Really good!!!

I really like your aesthetic, your atmosphere and your animation! The only problem is that the animation seems well done but too little. You animate a small sequence and then keep it in a freeze frame for much longer. Maybe you should use more tween in character animation, instead of doing it all fbf.
Other than that, splendid job! I'll be expecting the next installment anxiously!

Constructive critisism

Welcome to the 80s. Mass production temporarily beats quality and everyone gets a metallic frame, an engine and five wheels (including one for steering) that they call a car. A little less than thirty years later people are more into quality than quantity. In most cases (including flash movies) the same effort required to make twenty crappy animations, if used in just one would get you double the publicity and it would be almost all good. You (and other clocks, locks, ocks, cks etc spammers) can make some good stuff, but for some reason I haven't figured out yet, you don't. You 're making a ton of doodle and you distribute it, but you could have made a Mona Lisa...

we are great republic of china, we make many things you want. you want movie films, we make. you want great advise? we make. You want donald duck porns? we make. we are great republic of china. You do not talk about glorious leader of republic strawberry clock. VIOLATORS WILL BE PROSTITUTED.

Good stuff!!!

I always loved these moments of silence before some destruction, or the occurrence of the much expected unexpected sequence... Your backgrounds look just right, don't worry about that.
Since you seem to get into a bit of trouble with voice/audio peaking or sounding too low or noisy, I would love to give you a few tips on compression, noise reduction and Eq. In any case, I'd be happy to even do the audio editing/mastering myself for your next one. Have a nice one!

Wrong song

You could have chosen some other less interesting song for the background. A few seconds after it started, I ended up listening to the song and paying no attention to the animation (or maybe I should say, the still image sequence?). Make it shorter. Try to animate stuff. It's frustrating and a lot of work, but this is the way to go. Other than that you 've made a decent effort and you're on your way up! Good for you!!!

Maybe you should get that whole eye hearing thing checked out dude......ha sorry

Nice

But apparently your prediction didn't pan out... It's strange to actually see how our view of the world changes with time. I bet everyone thought it would have taken a month to get him at the time (perhaps including me, but I don't remember). Now, this is the kind of material that has a totally different meaning and significance...

No constructive criticism here since this was made waaaaay back...

Keep it up! (with minor changes)

It's "Dynasty" all over again, but this time with a funny one-man-one-voice Jackie Chan type of over-dub! They all sound like the "American" businessman villain in kung-fu films. But I did like your businessman voice. If others could do it in films, why not you, in an animation? You could have tried changing your voice between characters, though, keeping the same dramatic tone and then making the story roll a bit faster. It felt kinda like a soap opera episode.

Keep up the good work! I'm sure the next installment will be even better!

sam-delitans responds:

the next installment WILL be better. i already tried changing voices between charactors but they still sound the same and i have edited them quite a lot of times. thats why i put subtitles so you wont be lost half way through the movie.

Well....

This was amusing. Not too funny, but amusing. The thing is that you obviously can produce really good stuff and some other clock submissions were even better. But why don't you put some effort to it, a collaboration or something, work on it for ... ehem... a week or so and share it with the rest of us? I 'm sure it 'll be great! Do it with clocks and all, don't ruin your style, but just work on it a bit more.

You're talented, don't waste it on hasty animations. You don't have to beat the clock. Set the alarm a bit later, if that makes more sense to you.. :-)

Very decent!

My personal opinion? Sprite-astic! I'm a little tired, though, of the seemingly endless dialogs in the "[click/press *something*] to continue"fashion. I do tend to like voice acting, since it's not the 80s where you couldn't have decent audio in videogames. I know voice acting is quite tough, cause you need variety... women... decent equipment, acting talent and others, which means that you 'll have to either hire people or change your current friends, both very difficult. But nonetheless, those who do this have a better end result. I don't want to be unjust here, but it's the end result that is being rated and not the effort. Other than that, I really loved the fight sequence and your own drawings are quite good as well!

R1665 responds:

I actually planned on putting V.O. in this, but I didn't like the way it came out and I was running on a deadline. I still don't know whether or not there will be V.O. in the next one.

Oh, and those aren't my drawings. They were made by Lee Drake, a very good friend of mine.

LOL!

Good work!!! Wall-E type of main character but who can blame you for giving it a twist?
Fluent animation, nice plot, funny, but I think it could do with either more sound effects or perhaps a soundtrack. Nothing special, an orchestral hit here and there, some strings elsewhere, or even some mild background music. Other than that, really good work indeed!

Exquisite!

This is truly one of the best flash animations I have ever seen in terms of storytelling. The drawings are superb and the animation is fluent as well! But even when there are other movies that have more impressive animations and effects (as with films), this one has the benefit of supporting a very well written plot, and a very gripping soundtrack. And best of all, the animation, the drawings and the soundtrack all support and enrich the plot and the emotional turns in it (as well as being part of them) , an attribute about which, all fluent animators (and filmmakers) have to remember once in a while that it can make their work unforgettable.

Bravo!
